What is an initial consultation like?
The initial consultation is an opportunity to get clarity on what you are hoping to achieve in therapy and see whether you feel comfortable and safe to speak openly. It is also a chance to ask any questions you may have about therapy and how it might work for you.
It may be that you are looking for some brief, short term sessions or more in depth, longer term support. It is ultimately about considering what best meets your individual needs.
How often will we have appointments?
If you decide you would like to continue sessions, we will arrange a day and time to meet. Usually this is a weekly appointment but sometimes we may decide to work together on a different basis e.g. biweekly, monthly etc. We will decide based on what is best suited for your needs.
What if I want to end therapy?
If you decide not to continue, that’s absolutely okay. An important part of therapy is talking about what it feels like to to be there, how open, honest and safe you feel, what is working or what is not. If it feels like the right time to pause or stop that is completely fine - it is your right to end therapy at any point in the process.
